about us

Director, John Jenkins founded PLC in the 1980’s and Greg Venter, now a director, joined in 2001. Pacific Laminations Company changed its name in 2005 to better reflect its specialist role in New Zealand’s finishing industry. Greg Venter joined as director in 2001 after selling his own company, one of the largest laminators/coaters in South Africa’s Natal region. Gary Mathers, who bought and expanded GLC 14 years ago, has a background in flexible packaging. PLC and GLC are members of Printing Industry NZ and the NZ Print Finishers Association.
history
John Jenkins founded Jenrite Industries in 1980 with former partner Derek Wright.
By 1996 the dedicated laminating and coating specialist had 70% of the consumer laminating market and was a dominant player in manufacturing and exporting laminating machines.
Jenrite sold the consumer division to GBC and changed the company name to Pacific Laminations Limited.
In early 2005, Pacific Lamination and Coatings was formed as a separate company under the direction of John Jenkins and Greg Venter, and has since expanded its services to the industry. PLC joined forces in late 2005 with Gary Mathers of GLC Ltd when the two companies took up common shareholdings, to offer a complete laminating and coating service to the wider Auckland market and beyond.
